our approach
Our Commitment to Sustainability & Ethical Craftsmanship. Baby Blue Jewellery is committed to creating timeless, high-quality pieces that honour the beauty of nature. Our practice is grounded in thoughtful craftsmanship, ethical sourcing, and environmental care, ensuring each piece is made locally by Rachel with respect for both people and planet.
Craftsmanship & Materials. Each piece is thoughtfully designed and handcrafted, celebrating the organic forms of baroque pearls, shells, and gemstones. We prioritise quality over quantity, creating timeless designs that encourage mindful consumption.
Ethical Sourcing. We work exclusively with ethical suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability. Our baroque pearls are responsibly sourced to support ecological balance and fair labour, while our shells are gathered with care to protect local beach ecosystems.
A Timeless Approach to Jewellery We believe that jewellery should be a personal expression, designed to be cherished for years to come.
Packaging & Shipping Our packaging is designed with sustainability in mind, using recyclable and compostable materials.
Freshwater Pearl Sustainability Our pearls are sourced from Zhuji, Zhejiang, a region known for its high-quality freshwater pearls. We ensure that our suppliers follow environmentally responsible farming methods, including:
Water Quality Management: Maintaining clean, pollutant-free water to support healthy shellfish growth.
Ecological Balance: Regulating breeding density to prevent overfarming and environmental degradation.
Disease Prevention & Control: Utilizing eco-friendly methods to prevent disease and minimize chemical use.
Resource Recycling: Repurposing shell by-products to reduce waste and promote sustainability.
Community Engagement: Supporting local communities through fair employment opportunities and economic development.
